Zombies Run!! (sometimes I do too)
The dog and I do this thing where we run. This was from today (we didn’t run through that). And then we sleep. Well, one of us does. The other one goes to work. Sometimes we see pretty things. We’re getting to know the area. Peace.

Blech. Sick last week, but a couple lovely runs since then. I love the Garmin I bought in August (610 for those curious). I’ve had a couple snafus uploading data, but I haven’t lost anything. I track my running on dailymile (though I wish they wouldn’t round tenths of miles) so I like that dailymile…

I wish I had more substance to update here, but when personal life takes a beating the blog gets ignored. Cliff Notes version (I got loquacious): I did the 40-mile route at Pedaling for Kicks, which was a blast! If that event is any indication of how the metric century will go (in 3.5 weeks!)…

These weeks
Last week I biked 110.2 miles because I could. This week I will PR a 5K in awful Illinois heat & humidity. Goal A: under 34:41 which is my current official race PR Goal B: under 30:00 which I crave (my serious goal – a stretch but doable) Goal C: under 29:41 to make it…

WTH, Running??
I’m ticked. I think I finally recovered from the half (woot). Since then (so over 3 weeks) I’ve done a 3 miler, a 4 miler, a 7.3 miler, and 10.6 mi bike. Yesterday, after not running for a week, I set out to tackle an 8-miler and was reduced to a measly 3.7 mi by…

Not burn out, just resting
So… I allegedly ran 13.1(1!) miles a week and a half ago. What now? I laid low for a while. I did yoga two days after the race (that was hard). I told myself I wouldn’t run for the week following the race, but broke that on Friday evening (so close to making it a…

Fallacy or truth?
“I’m a slow runner because I’m thirty pounds overweight.” Am I making excuses? when I lose the weight I will get faster I’m just neglecting speedwork I’m genetically predisposed to be a slow runner all of the above? I feel like this training schedule has my body teetering at its injury threshold (thanks to Lesley…

Half training: Weeks 8-13
I’ve been quiet so I feel I owe you all a short update. I’ve been pretty busy so not so much downtime to blog. Here’s how my rollercoaster has gone: Highlights include (in chronological order): longest bike ride yet which included the largest hill I’ve found around these parts (and can’t wait to get back…

Today is the best day of the rest of my life.
Yesterday was a great day. My schedule was booked from 8AM until 9:45PM and it was wonderful. I felt purposeful, productive, and generous. I got stuff done, my day included time spent with good friends, and it all culminated in another great run. I wouldn’t say my knee is healed, but I can run without…

Is yoga to blame?
The knee might be better now. I’m really not sure. I did 1.4 mi last Thursday and it seemed better, but now 100%. I considered running last night but went to yoga instead (wonder why..). My time is precious with the trip coming up – tomorrow! ahh! – and I’ll be off for a week…
