8/24-8/26 and a little somethin’ extra :)

8/24

I decided to take Tuesday off after my lackluster run on Monday. I was wiped out anyway.

8/25

Walked 3.4 miles during the day.

Biked 8 miles with a neighbor in the evening. Wow. I’ve never biked that far in my life and I can’t wait to do it again! It was pretty dark & the neighbor can really book it so I want to get a bike light (or two!), something reflective, and a helmet (really should have done this a while ago). I was not nearly as sore as I thought I would be.

8/26

Ran with a new running buddy! Yay! I’ve been chatting back and forth with Meg for a little while and had fun running with her last night. She’s a new runner (like me!) so we’re doing C25K from the beginning. Her pace is a bit faster than mine so I can still challenge myself and work on speed a little bit. I’m still figuring out what I want to do, but a little speedwork can’t hurt, right? After we did 1-1 I ran another 11 minutes at 10:43.

Mini strength training: 2×15 lunges / 3×11-breath planks / 3×10 wall push-ups

8/27

Planning on walking & biking today.

Cherry on Top award

Finally, Rae over at 5K Rae passed the Cherry on Top award to me. Thanks, Rae!

Rules:

1. Answer this question: If you had the chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?

2. Secondly, pick 6 people and give them this award. Make sure to inform the person that they have gotten this award!

3. Be sure to thank the person who gave you the award.

Here we go!

These types of things are things I’d more likely share on my personal blog rather than here, but if you don’t mind, I don’t mind. :)

If I were given the opportunity to change something I would. I’m not 100% sure what it would be, but it would seem silly to not take advantage of the opportunity. I’m all for trying new things and “collecting” experiences so doing so would fulfill that. Here are my contenders:

  • Call my oldest friend last year when she told me she needed a phone date. I learned too late that I was too late and I really should have been there for her.
  • Not judge people in high school. I was pretty straight-laced then. College opened my eyes to realize the stereotypes I believed were false (and hurt me!). I’ve adjusted since, but I think high school might have been more enjoyable if I realized this earlier.
  • Convince myself to work harder in high school. Grades have always been easy for me. If I had tried just a little bit harder (actually study for exams, complete more of the busy work) I could have graduated with a better GPA (not that it was bad). It obviously has little affect on my adult life, but it would be nice if it better reflected my potential. I wish I could be more proud of it.
  • This will sound silly, but I wish I had gone out to the bars with my two roommates that one night freshman year. I didn’t at the time because I had no interest in going to bars, but I can pinpoint that night as the time I started drifting away from them. I feel like losing those two relationships represented my final close local friendships and it’s been challenging for me to create meaningful friendships since. I’m certainly not friend-less, but I don’t really have any local friends I can spend time with (and I wish I did).

  1. That’s awesome that you have a running buddy!

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog and entering the giveaway. I just wanted to say that I think it’s so nice that you’d want to use the giftcard towards the pet bed and then donate it! Good luck :)

    1. Thanks! It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while but haven’t because of the price. :)
